Paper republic is a publisher of authentic, minimalist stationery and leather accessories, created and developed in their workshop in Vienna (Austria). They take the utmost care in their creations, selecting quality papers and leathers and favoring local manufacturing. The studio has overseen the brand’s overall artistic direction since 2017.
Context
To assert its expertise, paper republic offers customized manufacturing in the form of a workshop dedicated to made-to-measure service: l’Atelier by paper republic. The Atelier by paper republic is an identity in its own right, integrated into the heart of the brand’s minimalist universe while distancing itself sufficiently to retain its exceptional character.
Proposal
Create a “l’Atelier” identity that embraces the elements of the paper republic identity, while remaining singular and autonomous. Play with traditional codes in a modern form. A monochrome white packaging that leaves room for the expression and color of limited-edition products. Giving particular importance to detail, with tone-on-tone printing and embossing to add relief. To make the packaging process easier for the workshop teams, and to surprise the customer upon unpacking: paper is printed with the workshop’s lettering, a sticker inspired by craftsmen’s irons, and a personalized “Thank you card” with a Polaroid of the product in production enclosed.
